Purpose and Meaning ...

The Mayan Calendar was used by the Maya, Aztecs and Hopi Nations for about five thousand years. It has not been used openly since the mid 1500's due to the introduction of Gregorian Calendar and it's enforced use.

Being spiritual in nature it reflected a much higher truth and purpose, the path to conscious creation and evolution.

Deeply in touch with the universe, the Maya used different calendars for different purposes. The TZOLKIN calendar was a 260 day cycle, with each day having a specific meaning and purpose. The day on which you were born indentifies your purpose for being here. Not only you, but everyone around you would know your purpose, simply by your name.

Your name reflected the consciousness of your life purpose. Your consciousness (what you focused on) was your "intent".

The Maya understood the Universal Law "what you focus your attention on, you become conscious of, and create in youre reality."

The TUN (pronounced tune) Calendar was of a prophetic nature. Like most of the Mayan Calendars, they were not about measuring time, but were used to keep track of the flow and intent of creation. This calendar allowed the Mayan's to recognize patterns, to predict the nature of the cycle that they were in or entering into. This gave them the understanding that time was not linear and that there was purpose and reason for every day, every cycle.

Endings and Beginnings

The record of the cycles of the Ancient Mayan Calendar ceases in 2012. There is much speculation as to why the calendar ends then. There are also many prophecies as this being the end of time. It is not the end of time or doomsday. It marks a very significant event.

They understood the big picture - the evolution of consciousness.

This is the time of awakening.

The time of the Great Shift in consciousness.

It is the time to remember that we are so much more than what we have believed. If we want to have peace on earth, if we are ready to say no to suffering and struggle, the time is now. It is time to allow our spirit to rise and be who we really are.

The Big Picture ...

The Maya Calendar documents nine specific stages in evolution. (Take a look at the Mayan pyramids, there are nine levels). The first stage began at the time of the big bang, 16.4 billion years ago. Each stage has seven "days" and six "nights".

A step in evolution was achieved each day and night. The days marked a period of learning. The nights were about applying, experiencing and understanding the new knowledge.

In this first stage, a day or a night lasted for 1.4 billion years. Physical laws were established. Action and reaction came into being. At the beginning of the seventh day, the first cell was created.

The second stage of the Mayan Calendar began 820 million years ago, with each day and night lasting 63.4 million years each. This was time of the first mammal.

Each stage becomes shorter, and evoltion happens more rapidly. The familial stage began 41 million years ago with the monkey first appearing on the seventh day.

The Mayan Calendar records the tribal stage beginning two million years ago, when man put down the tail, and picked up the mind. He noticed similarities and differences.

The agricultural stage began on the seventh day of next stage, 8,000 years ago. Man began to reason.

The National Cycle on the Mayan Calendar began 3,115 years ago with the introduction of Law. Man began to write. Right and wrong came into awareness. (Her-story ended, His-story - a rise in the ego and a drop in respect for the feminine - began.)

1755 AD (yes, the stages are becomine much shorter) began the planetary stage, (industry) with power over-coming law. Each night and day lasted 19.7 years. Remember, this is how long we had to make a step in evolution.

The current "galactic" stage see each day and night lasting 360 days. What we used to have 20 years to "get a grip" on, see us with 360 days now. This is why it appears that time is speeding up. Time itself is not speeding up, but our need to grow in consciousness, is.

The End Of Time, As We Know It ...

There is a differing of opinion as to exactly when the Mayan Calendar ends. Some say October 2011, others December 2012 with the galactic alignment. Whenever it is, we will be required to grow in consciousness in 20 days, what used to take us 397 years, 20 years, then 360 days.

The struggle, for many, will be overwhelming. There is an urgent need to tune into your intuition, your inner guidance. The mind will not cope with what is required in the years leading up to 2012. Learn to trust, and be guided by Spirit, communicated through your emotions.

Mother Earth and humanity are rising in consciousness together. We are entering a New Age. It is a time of living together in peace and love. If we choose, we can continue to learn through struggle, or we can learn through bliss. The choice is yours.

The Hopi Prophecy ...

The Hopi Prophecy is that we learn to go with the flow of evolution or suffering will increase. Raise our awareness of who you are, as spirit, and move into a new era.
